The labia’s function is to close the vaginal opening and to protect the vagina from foreign bodies, dehydration and inflammation. Small labia cannot adequately fulfill this function. Therefore the balance between form and function must be maintained at a correction. Older woman often have a loss of adipose tissue at the labia majora. A correction can be performed with an autologous fat transplant (before extraction on the lower abdomen or hip) or with hyaluronic acid.
